Tools that you need to root your Android One device that runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow
First of all, you will need to download Zeus kernel and SuperSU version 2.50 by Chainfire on your device. Make sure that the device has at least 80% battery left, so it will not shutdown during the rooting process, as it can permanently damage your device.
HINT: Backup any important data and settings that you have on your smartphone before starting the rooting process, as all the data from the device will be erased.
Reboot your Android One device into custom recovery mode or TWRP (requires installation) by powering off your device and pressing and holding “Volume Down” and “Power”. Select the TWRP option in order to backup data and select: Data, System, Recovery, EFS, Boot and swipe the confirmation button in order to start the backup. Wait until the backup process completes and return to the recovery main menu or home screen. Finally, hit the install option and browse the Zeus kernel file and select it.
Confirm the installation of the kernel by swiping the confirmation button. Once the installation of the kernel completes, return to the TWRP home screen again, tap on the install option, select SuperSU zip file and swipe the confirmation button to continue with the installation. When the installation completes, just reboot the device and you will notice that your Android One that runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now rooted!
